KUALA LUMPUR: The Dewan Rakyat has suspended three DAP lawmakers over their remarks against speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia for disallowing an emergency motion on the seizure of the luxury yacht linked to businessperson Jho Low and questions related to 1MDB.
V Sivakumar (Batu Gajah), Ngeh Khoo Ham (Beruas) and Nga Kor Ming (Taiping) are suspended for 10 days starting today.
The decision was announced by Deputy Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Seri Ronald Kiandee.
“It is very inappropriate for the trio to go to the media and made this statement, and their refusal to apologise (to the Speaker) is an insult to the proceeding, and ignoring the Speaker’s request is an offence of the standing order which every lawmaker should abide by.
“The action by all three lawmakers are an insult to Dewan Rakyat and i order Beruas, Batu Gajah and Taiping to exit the Dewan Rakyat for ten days, starting today,” Ronald said in the Dewan Rakyat.
