SHAH ALAM: The Selangor legislative assembly has passed an emergency motion to condemn the tabling of Election Commission's (EC) redelineation report.
The emergency motion, proposed by Rajiv Rishyakaran (DAP - Bukit Gasing), had a majority voice vote.
State executive councillor Elizabeth Wong in her debate on the motion said the passing of the redelineation report in Parliament would trigger a constitutional crisis, due to a pending court case filed by the state government.
She added that the Court of Appeal would make its decision on the case filed by the state government over the redelineation exercise on Thursday.
"If the redelineation report is passed in Parliament (before the court's judgement), it will turn into a constitutional crisis," she said.
"They (the federal government) will become the contributor to the constitutional crisis in this country," she added.
