Injured Japanese climber being treated at Ranau Hospital

KOTA KINABALU: A Japanese who sustained injuries in a fall while climbing Mount Kinabalu was assisted by a mountain search and rescue (MOSAR) team this morning to descend to Timpohon Gate.
The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department's operations centre in a statement said Iwabuchi Fumiko, 70, hurt his shoulder and face in the incident at KM 3.4 Mount Kinabalu.
Ranau Fire Station sent an emergency medical rescue services (EMRS) vehicle to the location upon being informed of the incident by MOSAR members at 11.40 am, according to the operations centre.
It added that the EMRS vehicle brought the victim from Timpohon Gate to Ranau Hospital for treatment. — Bernama
