    Kedah gerakan confident of recapturing Derga, Sidam

ALOR SETAR: Kedah Gerakan is confident of wresting back the state seats of Derga and Sidam in the 14th General Election, said its chairman Datuk Dr Cheah Soon Hai.
He said this was based on the feedback from the people, especially the Chinese community from these two opposition-held constituencies, who wanted changes for the better after GE14.
"The elected representatives cannot solve the problems faced by the local people and there were also complaints from the people that BN had to solve.
He was speaking to reporters after the BN public ceramah titled 'Menolak Pakatan Hipokrasi' (Reject Pakatan's Hypocrisy) at Taman Derga Jaya public field here last night.
Also present were state UMNO Information chief Datuk Othman Abdul.
On March 16, Gerakan president Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong was reported to have said the party had nominated Cheah to stand in the Derga state seat and Kedah Gerakan committee member Tan Kok Seong in the Sidam state seat in GE14.
The Derga state constituency is held by DAP and Sidam state seat by PKR. — Bernama
