KUALA LUMPUR: Voters can start checking the information on their polling stations and channels for the 14th General Election (GE14) from Monday (April 16).
Election Commission’s (EC) Election Operations Division principal assistant secretary, Mohd Sarif Hassan said at the moment, only information on voter registration status and eligibility to vote, could be checked.
“It is not possible now (to check polling station information). A check on the EC website now only shows information on the parliamentary or state constituencies. It does not show at which schools the voters’ polling stations will be,” he said when appearing as a guest on Bernama Radio’s ‘1Malaysia Negaraku’ programme.
He said checks can be done either via the EC’s website at ww.spr.gov.my or via the ‘MySPR Semak’ mobile application or by calling 03-88927018 or sending an SMS to 15888.
The EC announced the polling date for GE14 on May 9, the nomination date on April 28, while the early voting on May 5.
The government declared May 9 as an additional public holiday for the whole country in conjunction with the GE14 election day to enable Malaysians to fulfil their responsibilities as voters. — Bernama
