Star War prize awaits Lego speed challenge winner

PETALING JAYA: Legoland Malaysia Resort in Johor will hold its Asia's inaugural and largest "Lego Star Wars Speed Build Challenge" from April 21 to May 13.
Legoland Malaysia Resort general manager Kurt Stocks said the three-week "Lego Star Wars Days" would see participating families testing their skills to build the Star Wars' X-wing Starfighter in the speed-build challenge.
The fastest builder will receive the limited-edition Lego Star Wars 75192 Millennium Falcon set worth RM3,499 autographed by the original designer, Hans Burkhard Schlomer.
Other best-selling Lego Star Wars products will also to be given to the winner of the day every Friday and Saturday and on selected days.
Participants, comprising family of two to four persons, need to register at Lego Mindstorm of Legoland Malaysia theme park, in Johor Baru.
Stocks said more than 80 costumed fan group members are expected to march down the streets of Legoland Malaysia Resort in the "Star Wars Imperial March" on April 28 and 29, touted to be the largest in the region.
"The largest Lego Star Wars indoor miniland model display in Asia is only available at Legoland Malaysia Resort, where models are built with over 1.5 million Lego bricks," he said at a media briefing yesterday.
Meanwhile, Lego Trading Malaysia country manager, Ronald Kloppenburg said 10 new stock keeping units (SKUs) of Lego Star Wars products would be available for sale starting April 28, at Legoland Malaysia Resort, Toys "R" Us outlets and eight Lego certified stores in the country.
