New CEO for Naza Automotive Manufacturing plant

13 Apr 2018 / 18:15 H.

GROUPE PSA and Naza Corporation Holdings today jointly announce Laurence Noël as chief executive officer of the Naza Automotive Manufacturing (NAM) plant in Gurun, Kedah.
Apart from CEO of NAM, Noël has also been appointed Groupe PSA’s senior vice-president, Asean, effective May 1, 2018. She will report to Carlos Gomes, executive vice-president, China and Southeast Asia.
In 1995, Noël joined Groupe PSA, holding various positions in powertrain projects and programmes. She then took charge of the powertrain, platform and module programmes in 2014.
In her new position based in Kuala Lumpur, she will be tasked primarily with accelerating the group’s development in Southeast Asia, as announced in the group’s “Push to Pass” plan in 2016.
Groupe PSA, the second largest carmaker in Europe, holds majority stake in the business operations of NAM. The automotive giant and Naza Corporation Holdings signed a share sale agreement and a joint venture agreement on Feb 2018, officially establishing shared operation of NAM plant in Gurun, as the first manufacturing hub in Asean for Groupe PSA. This opened doors to further development of the state with increased job opportunities and transfer of technology.
The agreement gives the Naza Group sole responsibility for the distribution of Peugeot, Citroën and DS Automobiles vehicles in the domestic market and, with Groupe PSA, will explore distribution prospects in other Asean markets to address the potential 680 million customers in the region, where the automotive equipment rate is growing.
