Son of late PAS leader to contest for Pakatan in Penang

BUTTERWORTH: Muhammad Faiz Fadzil (pix), the son of former PAS president the late Datuk Fadzil Noor has been chosen as a candidate by Pakatan to contest in the upcoming 14th general election(GE14).
Muhammad Faiz will contest in the Permatang Pasir state seat which was won by PAS' Datuk Salleh Man in the last general election.
The 41-year-old lawyer who is the current Amanah deputy youth chief is expected to face candidates from PAS and Umno in the national polls scheduled to take place on May 9.
The fifth child of Fadzil who passed away in 2002 is a law graduate from International Islamic University (IIU) and was the former Negri Sembilan PAS leader before he joined Amanah on Sept 16, 2015.
Engineer Azrul Mahathir Aziz will contest the Bayan Lepas while Dr. Zaidi Zakaria a consultant paediatrician from KPJ Penang will contest for the Kepala Batas parliamentary constituency.
The announcement of the candidates was made by Amanah president Mohammad Sabu during a ceramah organised by Pakatan Harapan at Sungai Dua last night.
