TH worries over future of depositors, Malaysian haj pilgrims, if opposition wins

BALING: All facilities, including a subsidy for haj pilgrims and the future of Tabung Haji depositors, will be affected if the opposition wins and helms the government after the 14th general election.
TH chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim said the change in the government would also impact the good relations between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia.
"Currently, we get a subsidy of up to RM400 million a year for the haj pilgrimage, as well as the various facilities provided by the Saudi Arabia government to our pilgrims because of our good relations with Saudi Arabia, and if we (BN) lose, all these may not be enjoyed anymore.
"Not only TH but also the maahad tahfiz, religious and pondok schools and the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), will also be affected," he said when met by reporters after handing over a van to the Maahad Tahfiz Darul Hijrah here today. — Bernama
