KUALA LUMPUR: A total 130 judgments have been uploaded in the Malaysian Judgments Portal as of yesterday, said Chief Justice Tun Md Raus Sharif (pix).
Md Raus, who released the beta version of the portal today, said 121 cases were reported by the Court of Appeal and nine the Federal Court.
"As of yesterday (April 15), a total of 130 judgements have been reported including Indira Gandhi's case. For example, the full judgement which was delivered by the Federal Court will be released by the portal on the next day.
"We will extend it to the High Court level since it's going to be worldwide but will be selective.. for Federal Court, we will release all judgments," he said here today.
The portal proposed as the official repository of Malaysian judgements and rulings aims to develop a centralised and consistent approach towards aggregating and publishing Malaysian judgements.
Md Raus said the portal will be available at www.judgements.my and will be designated as the official repository of Malaysian Court Judgements.
"The portal is the initiative of the Malaysian judiciary together with Asean Legal Information Centre and the Malaysian Law Deans Council to provide easy access to reported Malaysian Judgements, online, free of charge, accessible to all from anywhere around the world," he said.
