Mara continues to prosper as Bumiputera institution thanks to govt: Najib

SUBANG: Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) continues to prosper as a Bumiputera based institution due to the government's agenda to uphold it.
Caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak (pix) also cited other reasons which included the institution's link to Umno's constitution which is to strengthen the Bumiputera agenda.
He also mentioned that Mara is based on the legacy of his late father, second prime minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein and which he as a son intends to continue it.
On a separate note, Najib, who is also Barisan Nasional chairman, intends to ensure the 14th General Election would not see a "Malay tsunami" (tsunami Melayu).
He did not elaborate further on the matter.
He was speaking here last night during the launching of "Saya Anak Mara" held at the Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology.
The event was attended by some 50,000 Mara representatives, including its chairman Datuk Dr. Awang Adek Hussin.
