Shahrizat to focus on women's wing machinery

KUALA LUMPUR: Wanita Umno chief Tan Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil (pix) intends to strengthen the Barisan Nasional women's wing machinery for the upcoming 14th general election (GE14).
"My focus is not on being a candidate but me as heading the machinery for us to face the election.
"The machinery must be strong and disciplined.
"This is how I can contribute by giving my full attention to the machinery," she told reporters here today after the Malaysian Judgments Portal launch at Universiti Malaya today.
When asked if the top leadership still wanted her to contest a seat, she said: "For me, whatever decision I make I will always revert to the president of the party. He makes the final decision.
"I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow, for today, I will not contest anywhere as I want to focus on the machinery."
