Nga Kor Ming will contest in Teluk Intan

TELUK INTAN: Days of speculation as to which DAP leader will contest in Teluk Intan was answered when Perak DAP chairman Nga Kor Ming (pix) was announced as the candidate.
PKR's president Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Wan Ismail made the announcement at a Pakatan Harapan (PH) ceramah here tonight.
Several PH leaders spoke at the ceramah calling the rakyat to make the changes at the ballot boxes.
Later DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng introduced Nga to the crowd on the stage.
The party's deputy secretary general held the Taiping parliament and Kepayang state seats before the dissolution.
He will be up against Gerakan president Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong who is expected to defend the seat.
He won the seat in a by-election in 2014 by a slim majority of 238 votes against DAP's Dyana Sofia Mohd Daud following the death of its wakil rakyat Seah Leong Peng from cancer.
In the 2013 general election, Mah, lost the seat to DAP candidate Seah Leong Peng by a 7,313 vote margin
Mah held the Teluk Intan seat for two terms from 1999, and then lost it in the 2008 and 2013 general elections.
Teluk Intan consists of Chinese (42%), Malays (38%), Indians (19%) and others (1%).
There are 61,004 voters registered in Teluk Intan, compared to 60,483 in the last general election.
