JOHOR BARU: DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang, who visited his Gelang Patah parliamentary constituency today, declined to comment whether he will be defending the seat that has been renamed Iskandar Puteri.
"I will announce soon," he told reporters after accompanying Skudai state candidate Tan Hong Ping on a walkabout to the wet market in Taman Ungku Tun Aminah, Skudai, near here.
Johor BN chief Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin had previously questioned if Lim would be defending his seat or move elsewhere.
Lim also declined to address questions on Dr. Boo Cheng Hau, who has been dropped from defending his Skudai state seat.
Boo had earlier said he was disappointed by the party's decision.
Tan said he could understand Boo's disappointment and said he and Boo had several discussions before this. He said he appreciates that Boo had promised to help campaign for him.
"It is very positive response," he said, adding he was not a stranger for Skudai residents.
"I had been active in Skudai for some 10 years before moving to Kluang. At that time I was working for the party here," he added.
