KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has made early preparations to ensure there is no power supply disruption at nomination, polling and vote counting centres during the 14th General Election (GE14).
Its chief corporate officer, Datuk Roslan Ab Rahman, said the preparations were made since November last year.
TNB, he said, had also held several series of meetings with the Election Commission (EC) and the Public Works Department (PWD) in the states to get feedback on the power needs for the election.
"Following the meetings, we have taken the necessary measures. InsyaAllah (God willing) everything will be under control. Operations rooms have also be set up in all states.
"As an additional measure, TNB technical staff will be placed on stand-by to ensure smooth power supply during the GE14 process," he said in a statement here yesterday.
The EC has fixed May 9 for polling, while nomination is on April 28 and early voting on May 5. — Bernama
