(Video) Mentally ill man holds flight attendant hostage with pen

AN AirChina flight to Beijing was forced to make an unscheduled landing on Monday after a passenger held an attendant hostage by holding a fountain pen to her throat.
The plane was diverted to Henan. After landing at the Zhengzhou Xinzheng International Airport, security officers and troops stormed the plane to apprehend the hostage taker.
Footage of the rescue operation was published online. It shows a male passenger squatting on the floor and holding onto a female flight attendant with a pen pointed at her neck.
Three plainclothes armed police officers and one police officer rushed to the hostage taker and freed the attendant.
The hostage taker has been identified as 41-year-old Xu from Hunan's Anhua county. Authorities said the incident was a sudden flare-up of his mental illness.
