KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia will increase its flight frequencies on selected domestic routes to cope with demand for the coming 14th General Election (GE14).
In a statement today, the airline said it would operate 120 additional flights, including 20 using the 377 seat Airbus A330 aircraft.
"The original May 8-10 travel period for our fixed fares has been extended to include May 7, 2018," it said.
The airline would also maintain the special fixed rates announced previously.
AirAsia is one of the earliest airlines to offer promotional flights in conjunction with the GE14 polling date on May 9, that was announced by the Election Commission.
One-way fares during this period are fixed at RM99 for routes within Peninsular Malaysia, RM129 for routes between Peninsular Malaysia and Sarawak and RM199 for routes between Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah, it said.
However, these are only for new bookings and are subjected to availability. — Bernama
