PETALING JAYA: Local artists and celebrities like Amber Chia, Linda Onn, Serina Datuk Redzuan, Shah Slam and many others will be coming together under one roof to sweat it out in a sporting event for a good cause.
The objective of the Grand Asian Celebrity Charity Badminton (GACCB), is aimed at raising funds for the Spastic Children's Association of Selangor & Federal Territory building development projects.
Event co-organiser Yayasan Artis 1Malaysia (YA1M) president Datuk Irwan Shah Abdullah said that this is a very meaningful event as not only the participating artists and celebrities get to promote physical and spiritual health through friendly badminton matches, they also get to do it for a charitable cause.
Irwan Shah, or more popularly known as DJ Dave, announced the details of the event at a press conference held at the multipurpose hall of the Spastic Children's Association of Selangor & Federal Territory.
GACCB is scheduled to take place at Stadium Titiwangsa on July 14 and 15 while the gala dinner will be at Berjaya Times Square Hotel on July 15.
Dave said the gala dinner is a gesture of thanks for all the event sponsors, partners and participants.
Dave also mentioned that Olympic silver medalist Goh Liu Ying and Malaysia badminton legend Foo Kok Keong will also be taking part and making a special appearance at the event.
