Maid's murder case set for mention on May 28

BUKIT MERTAJAM: The magistrate's court here today fixed May 28 to mention a case involving a woman charged with murdering her Indonesian maid.
Magistrate Dianne Ningrad Nor Azahar set the date after deputy public prosecutor Hamzah Azhan informed the court that the prosecution had yet to receive the post-mortem and chemist reports.
On Feb 21, M. A. Ambika, 60, was charged with the murder of Adelina Lisao, 28, at her house in Medan Kota Permai 2, Taman Kota Permai 2, here, at 4pm on Feb 10.
The sexagenarian was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code and faces the mandatory death sentence, upon conviction.
Also present at today's proceeding was Indonesian General-Consul in Penang, Iwanshah Wibisono, who told reporters that the victim's next-of-kin had received RM69,300 in compensation.
