False qualification certificates: Three men released on bail

PUTRAJAYA: Three men who were held in remand for alleged involvement in a syndicate issuing false qualification certificates, using the names of several private higher education institutions (IPTS) in the country, were released today.
Magistrate Low Wen Zhen allowed two of them released on bail of RM7,000 in one surety each, while the third, who is an Indian national, was released on bail of RM10,000 in two sureties and ordered to surrender his passport.
They were in remand since April 16 after being detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in an special operation in Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur, the previous day.
So far, six people, including two women, had been detained and held in remand in connection with the case. — Bernama
