KUALA LUMPUR: MIC will ensure victory in the Hulu Selangor parliamentary seat, said its incumbent MP Datuk P. Kamalanathan.
Kamalanathan, who is also Deputy Education Minister, said the party is working very hard to retain the seat.
"The people in Hulu Selangor are united and together, we (MIC) must deliver in Hulu Selangor," he told a press conference after officiating the Indian Welfare Programme, here today.
Kamalanathan first won the Hulu Selangor seat during a by-election in 2010 when he defeated Datuk Zaid Ibrahim, who was then in PKR, with a majority of 1,725 votes. During the 13th General Election, Kamalanathan won the seat after defeating rival, PKR's Khalid Jaafar with a 3,414 vote majority. — Bernama
