SHAH ALAM: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) has confirmed it would contest a total of 12 parliament and state seats in Selangor.
Selangor PPBM chairman Datuk Abdul Rashid Asari today said all its candidates would be new faces.
He added that the party would field its candidates in three parliament seats and nine state seats in Selangor.
The state seats allocated to PPBM was however lower than the 12 seats demanded by the party during a negotiation process with other Pakatan Harapan (PH) component parties.
Abdul Rashid said PPBM had tried its best to contest in all seats won by Barisan Nasional (BN) in the previous general election.
"However, the PH presidential council had decided that PPBM would contest in nine state seats and three parliament seats.
"We abide by the decision made by the presidential council," he said in a press conference to announce PPBM election candidates at the party's state headquarters.
