PPBM picks ex-naval commander for Pangkor seat

LUMUT: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) is fielding a retired naval commander for the Pangkor state seat in the 14th general election (GE14).
The announcement was made at a party function here today which was also attended by PPBM chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) president Mohamad Sabu.
The candidate , Commander (Rtd) Nordin Ahmad Ismail, 52, is likely to face a four-cornered fight with the Barisan Nasional (BN) fielding caretaker Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, PAS' Zainal Abidin Saad and Leman Kanaulla standing as an independent.
In GE13, Zambry defeated PKR's Mohd Saifullah Mohd Zulkifli and Independent candidate J. Bernard Parenpa by a majority of 5,124 votes. — Bernama
