Latest VW Golf R-Line introduced

VOLKSWAGEN Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) today unveiled the new Golf R-Line at the Malaysia Autoshow 2018, completing the new Golf family line-up in Malaysia. The event also marks the Golf R-Line’s first public appearance in the country.
Priced at RM166,990 (retail price including GST, excluding insurance and registration), it is decked in the “R-Line” styling package which includes the R-Line front and rear bumper, rear spoiler, R-Line badges on radiator grille and side panels, and 17-inch “Singapore” alloy wheels.
VPCM managing director, Erik Winter, said: “The R-Line’s arrival completes the Golf family line-up. Since the launch of the Golf family, we have received very positive response towards the variants – and now with today’s unveiling, the family is complete. The Golf is such an iconic model for Volkswagen, and has a strong following here and around the world, so it is no surprise that more than 34 million units have been sold worldwide since it its market introduction in 1974. To date, demand for the Golf remains an all-time high for us.”
Performance

Under its bonnet, the Golf R-Line’s 1.4TSI turbocharged engine is mated with a seven-speed dry clutch direct shift gearbox (DSG), to give an impressive output of 148hp and a torque of 250Nm between 1,500 and 3,500rpm.
Safety
Equipped with seven airbags, the Golf R-Line comes with an array of advanced safety features such as Manoeuvre Braking which automatically brakes the car when it senses objects while travelling up to 10km/h during parking. Also available is Automatic Post Collision Brake System where the brakes are automatically applied to prevent subsequent impact when the vehicle is involved in a collision. The Golf R-Line also comes with Rest Assist and Proactive Occupant Protection System, which looks out for the driver and occupants in the vehicle while the Advanced Electronic Differential Lock (XDS) provides added grip during fast cornering.
Connectivity, Convenience
The Golf R-Line offers the best of both worlds when it comes to connectivity and convenience, thanks to its 12.3-inch Active Info Display and eight-inch screen Composition Media with App-Connect (which runs systems such as MirrorLink, Android Auto and Apple Carplay). Other convenient key features include LED headlights (with Dynamic Cornering Lights), two-zone Climatronic air conditioning system, rear-view camera, “Kessy” electronic locking and starting system, electronic parking brake and driving mode selections with four different modes such as Eco, Normal, Sport and Individual.
Colours
The Golf R-Line is available in Tumeric Yellow, Atlantic Blue, Pure White, Deep Black, White Silver and Indium Grey.
The Volkswagen booth at the Malaysia Autoshow 2018 will showcase the full Golf family along with other models such as the Polo, Vento, Passat, Tiguan and Beetle. There is also a fleet of units for test drive, including the Golf Sportline and Golf GTI.
