Boat tragedy: Bodies of two Chinese nationals found

KUANTAN: The bodies of two male Chinese nationals, believed to be victims in the boat which capsized in Sungai Kobat, Kampung Padang here yesterday, were found today.
Pahang Fire and Rescue Department deputy director Mohd Sani Harul said the remains of Chen Xi was found at 9.30am, while that of his friend, Ren Cheng, was recovered about 30 minutes later.
Both the victims, aged 29, were employees of the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), which is the main contractor for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL).
"The bodies were discovered about 20 metres from the location where the fibre boat they were in with two other colleagues, capsized at 4.16pm yesterday.
"In the incident, their two friends and the boat skipper, who is a local man, were rescued," he told reporters here today.
The survivors are Duan Feng; Zhang Jian Zheng, both aged 27; and Mohd Yusdi Mohd Yusof, 38, from Taman Tas here.
Mohd Sani said representatives from CCCC, who were at the scene, identified the bodies, which were then sent to the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital here. — Bernama
