GEORGE TOWN: PKR's Kebun Bunga candidate Jason Ong Khan Lee has today denied any rift between him and his colleague Cheah Kah Peng after making a comeback to replace the one-term incumbent.
Ong, who held the state seat under Bukit Bendera parliament in 2008, invited Cheah to assist him and the party during the campaign trail which starts after nomination day tomorrow.
He said Cheah could help him and the party's machinery in Kebun Bunga. Ong added that he had done that done the same when he was dropped to make way for Cheah.
He did not hold any ill feeling towards Cheah previously but also assisted in a series of walkabouts at the constituency. He dismissed rumours that his relationship with Cheah was strained.
" Most importantly is that we work as a united front and bring change and reform to the country," he told theSun, adding that he didn't lobby to be picked as a candiadte.
Cheah could not be reached at press time.
