Perak PKR retains three incumbents for state seats

IPOH: Perak PKR retained three of its five incumbents for the state seats while another two moved to parliament constituencies.
Perak PKR secretary Yunus Jamhari, Tan Kar Hing and Chua Yee Ling will re-contest in Kuala Kurau, Kuala Sepetang and Simpang Pulai respectively.
S. Kesavan, the former Hutan Melintang assemblyman and state PKR vice-chairman, will vie for the Sungai Siput parliamentary seat.
Kesavan will square off with MIC deputy president Datuk Seri S. K. Devamany and PSM's incumbent Dr Michael Jeyakumar Devaraj and Dr Ishak Ibrahim from PAS.
Former Teja assemblyman and vice-chairman Chang Lih Kang will fight for the Tanjung Malim federal seat. Chang is up against incumbent Chenderiang assemblyman and Perak MCA chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon.
PKR is contesting 14 state seats and five parliament constituencies in total.
Perak PKR deputy chairman Dr Lee Boon Chye will defend his Gopeng parliament seat.
The other state seats are Noor Sham Abu Samah (Kenering), Muhamad Aiman Aizuddin (Batu Kurau), Ahmad Zaki Husin (Alor Pongsu), Khairul Anuar Musa (Chenderoh), Madhi Hasan (Lintang), Muhamad Arafat Varisai Mahamad (Hulu Kinta), Mohd Azlan Helmi (Tualang Sekah), Sandrea Ng (Teja) and Mohamad Maharani Md Tasi (Sungai Manik).
Former Lumut MP, First Admiral (rtd) Mohamad Imran Abdul Hamid will contest in Bukit Chandan and incumbent Kapar MP, G. Manivanan, will fight in Hutan Melintang.
Ejazi Yahaya and Pakhrurrazi Arshad will stand for the Padang Rengas and Bagan Datuk parliament seats respectively.
Manivanan will face an uphill task to retain the Hutan Melintang seat for the opposition as it comes under the Bagan Datuk federal constituency which is held by caretaker Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The last state seat is Rungkup represented by Umno.
