KUALA LUMPUR: The police have engaged Interpol and their Asean counterparts Aseanapol to track down the men who assassinated Palestine lecturer, Fadi M R Albatsh outside a condominium in Setapak recently.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said police were still tracing the hitmen's whereabouts. The men are believed to have fled abroad.
"Efforts to trace the men, believed to be of Middle Easterners or Europeans, are still ongoing," he told a press conference today after police's monthly assembly in Bukit Aman today.
Mohamad Fuzi had previously said the men had entered the country using fake identities.
He also did not discount the possibility that the men had military training.
Albatsh, who was assassinated on April 21, was laid to rest in Palestine on April 27.
Albatsh stepped out of the compound of the Idaman Puteri condominiums on Jalan Meranti at about 6am, and was walking towards a nearby surau when he was waylaid by two men on a motorcycle.
A hail of bullets rang out moments later, killing the Palestinian on the spot.
