JOHOR BARU: The match between Johor Darul Ta'zim and Selangor scheduled at 9pm tonight has been cancelled after the pitch at Tan Sri Dato Haji Hassan Yunos Stadium, Larkin was found not suitable for the match tonight.
The Malaysian Football League (MFL) in a statement on its Facebook site today said this followed non-stop rain in Johor Baru from last night until today.
"The match commissioner Shahrin Ismail was informed by refereee Kassim Kadir Bacha that the field condition at Tan Sri Dato Haji Hassan Yunos Stadium in Larkin was not suitable for the match tonight. From the experience of the match officer, the condition is unlikely to change before the match time.
"As the match tonight is expected to be closely fought, the referee made an early decision to postpone the match due to safety," said MFL here today.
MFL said the early decision was made to alert supporters of development to tonight's game. — Bernama
