Three killed, three injured in accident at Linkedua

JOHOR BARU: Three youths were killed and three others injured in an accident at Km29.9, along the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link (Linkedua) near here early this morning.
Those killed were a Honda Civic driver Muhammad Aseel Habel Akbar, 21, and his passenger, Muhammad Safuan Sazali, 23. Another passenger in the car, Nur Syahirah Mohamad Farid, 21, sustained injuries.
Kulai police chief Supt Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the incident was believed to have occurred when the driver of the Honda Civic lost control of the vehicle and hit the divider.
"Following the impact, the car spun several times before Muhammas Aseel and Muhamamad Safuan were flung out from the vehicle and died at the scene due to severe head and body injuries," he said in a statement here today.
Meanwhile, in an attempt to avoid the Honda Civic, a Perodua Bezza that was behind the vehicle skidded to the left of the highway before overturning into a drain.
"The driver, identified as Mohamad Ridzuan Mohamad, 24, was also flung out from his vehicle and died at the scene due to similar injuries," Dzulkhairi said.
Meanwhile, two other passengers in the car, Nur Zaffira Zulkhairi, 25, and Muhammad Hamirul Ikmal Ishamuddin, 24, sustained injuries.
Dzulkhairi added that during the incident, it was raining and dark.
The three injured victims were brought to the Kulai Hospital for further treatment. — Bernama
