THE Dewan Filharmonic Petronas will be playing host to an acrobatic and musical performance spectacular the likes of which has not been seen since 2015.
Presented by the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO), the fantastically-themed Cirque de la Symphonie is happening this Saturday at 8.30pm, and a matinee performance on Sunday at 3pm.
This breathtaking musical fusion of circus and classical music comes complete with well-known Cirque acts such as aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, jugglers, balancers and strongmen.
Designed to bring the magic of Cirque to the concert hall, this production is expected to add a whole different level of energy and vigour to the concert experience.
Expect a three-dimensional entertainment extravaganza, with jaw-dropping spectacle and astonishing acrobatic feats, fused with the power and majesty of a live symphonic orchestral music.
Conductor Gerard Salonga leads the MPO in a performance of 17 musical masterpieces by 14 composers that include Antonín Dvorák’s Carnival Overture, Aram Khachaturian’s ballet score from Gayaneh, Georges Bizet’s Carmen Suite, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, themes from Mission Impossible and Superman, as well as songs with South American flavours.
Ticket prices start from RM150 to RM380. For more, visit the MPO website.
