CYBERJAYA: Over 30,000 traditional and complementary medicine practitioners today expressed their support for the government led by caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.
The support was conveyed by Malay Traditional Medicine Association (Gapera) president and founder Adzhar Latif, together with five other representatives of traditional and complementary medicine associations who took an oath affirming their loyalty and strong support to Najib.
"We are representing the Malay, Indian, Chinese and Muslim traditional, homeopathy and complementary medicine practitioners registered with the Ministry of Health," Adzhar told a press conference, here today.
He said they were giving their support as the government had all the while been contributing to the development and advancement of traditional and complementary medicine.
He said under Najib's leadership, traditional and complementary medicine bodies in the country have been elevated and their skills and practices recognised by the community.
"If required we are also prepared to assist the Barisan Nasional (BN) in their campaign for the 14th General Election," he said. — Bernama
