Two brothers aged five, six found safe after car-jacking

JOHOR BARU: Two brothers aged five and six were found safe after their mother's minivan was car-jacked in front of a convenience store in Pasir Gudang here this morning.
The boys were found unhurt inside the Honda Odyssey which was abandoned about 600m from Jalan Tembikai, Taman Kota Masai, where the thieves stole the vehicle at 7.45am.
Seri Alam police chief, Supt Jokhiri Abd Aziz, said the minivan was found about 20 minutes after the alleged car-jack.
In a statement here, he said the victims' mother had left them in the vehicle with the engine running and the door unlocked in front of the convenience store when the minivan went missing.
"The brothers were found safe in the vehicle. We are in the midst of tracking down the suspected car-jackers," he added.
Jokhiri advised the public not to leave their children in vehicles with the engine running. — Bernama
