Johor economically better since Muhyiddin not MB

TANGKAK: Caretaker Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin chided his former Umno ally Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, by saying the state is in a much better financial position now than when it was under the leadership of latter.
While he did not provide any figures, Mohamed Khaled said the state's reserves had increased and has been in an excellent position, since Muhyiddin was succeeded by Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Othman in 1995.
"We can compare our reserves now with when the state was under this one particular candidate whose face is on the roadsides on posters and banners," he said, referring to Muhyiddin.
This was also the reason why the state was able to announce budget surpluses each year, he added.
"Try and study the reserves now and then. That just shows how well we manage our state's economy, and how with all the resources we have, we maximise them for Johor," he said at the launch of four new bridges in Jalan Sengkang, Bukit Gambir, here today.
The bridges, which cost a total of RM16.3 million, started construction works in 2016 and were completed on April 27, in order to ease the flow of traffic.
Muhyiddin, who is now Pakatan Harapan (PH) deputy president and Umno splinter party PPBM president, had served as the 13th Johor MB from August 1986 to May 1995, before being replaced by Abdul Ghani.
Mohamed Khaled was later appointed as the state MB following the 2013 General Election, after Abdul Ghani lost the Gelang Patah parliamentary seat to DAP's Lim Kit Siang.
