852 early voters cast ballots in Penang

GEORGE TOWN: Some 852 early voters from the Northeast district police headquarters cast their ballots at the start of early voting today.
The personnel will be voting for their chosen candidates for the Jelutong parliamentary seat and the Datuk Keramat state seat.
In Jelutong, DAP's RSN Rayer is up against Barisan Nasional's (BN) Baljit Singh and Tan Sim Bee from Malaysian United Party (MU).
DAP's Datuk Keramat incumbent Jagdeep Singh Deo is up against Lee Boon Ten from BN, Lim Boo Chang from MU, Nicholas Diane Morgan from Penang Front Party (PFP) and independent candidate Muhammad Majnun Abdul Wahab.
Polling agents from the respective parties were also present to monitor the voting process.
Many of the early voters had started queuing up way before 8am to cast their ballots.
Seen among the crowd was wheelchair-bound Corporal Mat Saffar, 50.
"I have not missed an election," said Mat who is attached to the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) here.
Also seen among the early voters was Elias Che Man, 52, a bodyguard to caretaker Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.
Alll those who had cast their ballots, came out of the polling centre showing their index finger stained with the indelible ink.
