Local actress detained for drug possession after traffic accident

KUALA LUMPUR: A 25-year-old popular local actress was detained by police after she was found in a state of delirium in possession of drugs following a traffic accident in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) yesterday.
Police patrolmen rushed over to Jalan Burhanuddin Helmi after police received a call from a motorist who reported that the actress who was driving a Range Rover had hit his Honda BRV.
The policemen who found the woman in a state of intoxication drove her to the TTDI police station where 53 Eramin 5 pills weighing about 14g and an estimated street value of RM660 were found in her handbag following a search conducted by a policewoman.
However, a preliminary urine test conducted by police turned out to be negative.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said yesterday that the woman was freed on police bail and the seized items will be handed over to the Chemistry Department for further tests.
He said the investigation papers on the case will be concluded and submitted to the Attorney-General Chambers for further action.
