KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) reminded all supporters of political parties contesting in the 14th General Election (GE14) not to violate any laws post-GE14.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said cooperation from all political parties was highly appreciated to ensure security and maintain public order in Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.
"We want to thank the supporters of political parties and the people who had adhered to the instructions and have given good cooperation to the police.
"We hope the good cooperation will persist until after the GE14," he said in a statement here today.
Mazlan said the police would not hesitate to take stern action against any party that tried to create a provocation, shake public order and violate the laws.
Meanwhile, he said, the voting process for 225 polling centres within the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya ran smoothly and peacefully until 5pm.
A total of 5,275 officers and policemen, including the enforcement team of Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), were stationed at the centres from as early as 4am. — Bernama
