Ahmad Yakob takes oath as Kelantan Mentri Besar today

KOTA BARU: Kelantan PAS commissioner Datuk Ahmad Yakob took the oath of office as Kelantan Mentri Besar for the second term today following the mandate was given by the people in yesterday's 14th General Election (GE14) for the party to continue to administer the state.
Ahmad, 67, who won the Pasir Pekan state seat, took the oath before the Regent of Kelantan Dr Tengku Muhammad Faiz Petra at Istana Kota Lama here.
The ceremony, which took place about 11.30 am, was witnessed by the Tengku Temenggong of Kelantan Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Rizam Tengku Aziz, Judicial Commissioner Datuk Ahmad Bache, Kelantan State Secretary Datuk Nazran Muhammad and the Kelantan Mufti Datuk Mohamad Shukri Mohamad.
The swearing-in ceremony for the Deputy Mentri Besar and members of the State Executive Council will be held later.
In GE14, PAS, which has helmed Kelantan for 28 years, retains its power after winning 37 of the 45 state seats, with the remaining seat won by Barisan Nasional (BN). — Bernama
