All incumbents retain seat in Bera

BERA: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (pix) retained the Bera parliamentary seat in the 14th general election held yesterday.
He won the seat with a majority of 2,311 votes against PKR's Zakaria Abdul Hamid and Musaniff Abdul Rahman, from PAS.
Returning officer Datuk Razihan Adzharuddin, when announcing the results at 12.20 am today, said Ismail Sabri polled 20,760 votes, while Zakaria and Musanif garnered 18,449 votes and 8,096 votes, respectively.
In the 13th general election, Ismail Sabri, who is Umno Supreme Council member, won the seat after defeating Zakaria and an Independent candidate, Wali Alang Ahamad, with a 2,143 vote-majority.
For the Guai state seat, incumbent Datuk Seri Norolazali Sulaiman, of BN, polled 8,147 votes and won the seat with a majority of 3,295 votes, while BN candidate Datuk Mohd Fadil Osman retained the Kemayan state seat with a majority of 4,618 votes.
Another BN candidate, Tan Tin Loong, whoever failed to retain the Triang state seat. He polled only 4,768 votes against incumbent Leong Yu Man, of PKR, who obtained 11,222 votes. — Bernama
