Chong wins Stampin seat with 14,221 vote majority

KUCHING: Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen won the Stampin parliamentary seat with 14,221-vote majority against Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian.
The result was announced by Returning Officer Elizabeth Loh at the Padawan Municipal Council here tonight, without the presence of Dr Sim, who is SUPP president.
Chong garnered 33,060 votes, while Dr Sim polled 18,839.
Chong's victory enabled DAP to retain the seat after winning it in the last general election through Julian Tan Kok Ping. — Bernama
