ALOR STAR: Pakatan Harapan (PH) may have to wait a little longer before announcing their candidate for the post of Kedah Mentri Besar.
The Sultan of Kedah's private secretary Datuk Elmi Yusoff said in a statement that the swearing-in ceremony scheduled to take place today has been postponed.
It was learnt that the postponement might be related to the situation in Kedah where no party has won the minimum of 19 seats to enjoy a simple majority and subsequently form the state government.
Yesterday PH won 18 of the 36 state seats in the 14th general election, while PAS won 15 and Barisan Nasional only won three seats, resulting in a hung assembly.
theSun also learnt that Kedah PH chairman Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir or Amiruddin Hamzah who won the Anak Bukit state seat, are among the possible candidates for the post of Mentri Besar.
