BENTONG: The appointment of the Pahang Mentri Besar will be made after an approval from the palace is sought, said Pahang Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob (pix).
He said the Sultan of Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah and Regent of Pahang Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad would choose the right candidate to hold the post of mentri besar.
"For the post of executive councillors, the matter has yet to be decided as the palace has not decided on the appointment of the mentri besar," he said at a media conference here today.
Based on the GE14 results yesterday, Pahang BN formed the state government following a simple majority after winning 25 out of the 42 state seats while Pas won eight and Pakatan Harapan (nine).
Adnan, representing the Pahang BN, thanked the voters for electing the BN to continue the state administration.
On the implementation of high impact projects in Pahang by the previous government, Adnan hoped it would be continued with the assurance of full cooperation from the government.
He said a post-mortem on the GE14 results would be submitted to the state government that would be appointed soon. — Bernama
