SHAH ALAM: Selangor Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali had an audience today with the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, most probably to seek the Ruler's consent to form the new state government.
Mohamed Azmin, the former Mentri Besar, was seen heading into the compound of Istana Bukit Keyangan here in a black Toyota Camry car at 11.50 am and leaving the palace about 20 minutes later.
As reporters approached the car as it left the palace, Mohamed Azmin said: "I will issue a statement later".
Mohamed Azmin had retained the Bukit Antarabangsa state seat and the Gombak parliamentary seat in the general election yesterday.
Pakatan Harapan returned to power in Selangor by winning 51 of the 56 seats in the state legislative assembly. The BN lost eight of the 12 seats it had held in the last assembly and PAS retained only one of the 12 seats it last held. — Bernama
