PUTRAJAYA: The treasurer and two executive committee members of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) Youth wing today claimed to have received information and a video clip showing about 50 Birkin handbags being transported via a government-owned van to several condominium units at the Pavillion Residence KL.
In a joint statement issued here today, they stated that the price of each handbag was estimated to be at RM200,000 and above, with each box (containing the handbags) having a tag labelled with names of the persons who gave the handbags (as a gift) and the receiver's name, believed to be Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, the wife of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak.
The statement further said considering the allegations that Najib and his wife were allegedly involved in a massive money laundering scandal, PPBM Youth urged the relevant authorities to carry out raids on the condominium units at the Pavilion Residence KL.
"The van was seen to have the logo of the Prime Minister's Department (JPM) and Jata Negara Malaysia. If it is true that the van belongs to JPM, this is an abuse of power," he said.
The statement was issued by PPBM Youth treasurer Rafiq Hakim Razali and executive council members Ben Ali and Azizi Sulaiman.
It added that a police report to the effect was lodged at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters.
Dang Wangi district police chief ACP Shaharudin Abdullah when contacted confirmed receiving the report. — Bernama
