Three BN reps jump ship to PH in Johor

JOHOR BARU: Three Barisan Nasional (BN) assemblymen in Johor have joined Pakatan Harapan (PH).
According to Johor PH secretary Datuk Osman Sapian, the three are Datuk Rasman Ithnain (Sedili), Rosleli Jahari( Johor Lama) and Alwiyah Talib (Endau) have become members of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM).
Rasman who was the former deputy chief of Umno Kota Tinggi, said the three of them made the decision on Friday, and picked PPBM as their platform to serve the people.
The announcement was made at a press conference here on Saturday.
In the 14th general election, PH won 36 seats from the 56 state seats, while BN won 19 seats and PAS won 1.
Following the defection of the three assemblymen, Johor PH will now have 39 seats in the state assembly.
The outcome of the election, saw the southern state, once regarded as Umno's safe deposit, fall to the opposition coalition in the polls.
The new mentri besar from PH will be sworn in later today.
Former mentri besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin also lost both seats that he contested in Pasir Gudang (Parliament) and Permas (state).
