GEORGE TOWN: Parti Amanah Nasional and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) are expected to be given one state executive councillor's post each in the new Penang government.
A source, close to newly appointed Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, confirmed that discussions are underway to allow one representative each from Amanah and PPBM to join the state government.
The new state executive councillors line-up will be unveiled later, after Chow is sworn in before the Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Dr Abdul Rahman Abbas tomorrow.
The state executive councilors line-up may extend beyond 11 members, which was the previous number under the two-term administration of Lim Guan Eng.
Lim was yesterday appointed as the new Finance Minister as part of the Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's initial Cabinet line-up.
In the previous administration, DAP had eight members, while PKR has three exco members.
Pakatan Harapan has 37 of the 40 state seats in Penang after the 14th General Election.
