Guan Eng to comment on portfolio only after swearing-in

13 May 2018 / 15:26 H.

GEORGE TOWN: Newly appointed Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng will not address any issue related to his portfolio until he is sworn in.
Lim, who announced Chow Kon Yeow as his successor for the Chief Minister's position, said he would not make any comment right now in relation to the current financial situation.
"This is an important portfolio so anything that I comment will have affect on the market," he said in a press conference.
Lim said he would be briefed by his ministry's officials while pledging to abolish the Goods and Services Tax (GST), which was one of Pakatan Harapan's (PH) promises in its election manifesto.
