11-year old among three dead after car crash

KUANTAN: Three people including an 11-year-old boy, were killed after a car rammed into the back of a trailer at Kilometre 22, Jalan Lipis-Merapoh, in Kuala Lipis today.
Lipis district police chief, Supt Azry Akmar Datuk Ayub said in the 5.50am accident, the three victims died on the spot, after sustaining severe injuries.
Initial investigations revealed the victims were travelling from Gua Musang to Kuala Lumpur before the car crashed into the coal-laden trailer.
"Due to the impact, the Perodua Bezza car driven by Chong Mum Tong, 47 was badly crushed," he told Bernama today.
"The other two victims have been identified as Len Wee Keong, 42 and Chan Yun Sing, 11," he said adding that the bodies have been sent to the Kuala Lipis Hospital for post-mortem.
A urine test would be conducted on the trailer driver who escaped unhurt, he added. — Bernama
