KUALA LUMPUR: The Pakatan Harapan (PH) government is committed to create a conducive environment in the country, particularly in aspects of economic and educational stability, to help mothers play their role in educating and bringing up their children.
New Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail in a statement today said this was crucial for children to realise their true potential as the future generation of the country.
"In conjunction with Mother's Day on May 13, 2018, I express my appreciation to all mothers in the country, and the world, for all the determination and sacrifices made, in educating their children.
"To all beloved mothers, happy Mother's Day 2018," she said in a statement uploaded via Facebook and Twitter.
In this regard, the PKR president said that the PH government respected and cherished all mothers regardless of race and religion, and prayed that society would maintain the harmony and well-being of the institution of family, under the leadership of the new government.
Dr Wan Azizah's appointment as deputy prime minister was announced by Pakatan Harapan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who is also the Prime Minister, as soon as the coalition was declared victorious in the 14th general election. — Bernama
