Cement good ties with federal govt: Pahang MB

PEKAN: Cementing good ties with the federal government is among the top priorities of the newly appointed Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail.
Wan Rosdy, 60, said many matters needed to be discussed following the changes that took place after the 14th general election (GE14).
"Focus will be given to win back the hearts and restore the confidence of the people to the Barisan Nasional (BN)," the Jelai assemblyman told reporters here today.
Wan Rosdy was met after he took the oath of office well as the inauguration and swearing-in ceremony of the state executive council members before the Regent of Pahang Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah at the Istana Abu Bakar here today.
Also present were Tengku Puan of Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah and Tengku Muda of Pahang Tengku Abdul Rahman.
On the appointment of the eight Pahang executive councillors today, Wan Rosdy said their portfolio would be decided soon.
Wan Rosdy, who officially starts his duties tomorrow, also thanked the previous Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob for his contribution and guidance.
"I also express my gratitude to the Pahang Sultan and Regent for their trust and I will execute the responsibility and trust given as best as possible," he added. — Bernama
